How much does it cost to buy and install a 100 gallon fuel tank in a 31′ Tiara yacht?
Travis asked:
It’s a 1986 with gas engines. I need to extend my range a little bit. The answers can be for either stainless steel or aluminum.

If you have to ask, you can’t afford it.

the design of the boat will have to accomodate the extra load and location. you will need to consult the designers at Tiara. you will be adding about 1000 lbs.

I’ve never installed a 100 gal. but I have installed two 50 gallon tanks. I remember the shipping was over $150 for the tanks, and we put in two deck fittings, a cross over valve system , added some support and other fittings. the parts were right at $1000. And our shop charged $800 labor which I thought reasonable because of the difficulty getting the tanks in the space. I think a 100 gal would be twice as hard, and would cost as much as 30% more. These were Alum. tanks. CG approved. We were concerned with the added weight but it worked out ok. It was a 39′ about the same vintage, 80’s something. Nice boat….
