metal workers
painters
machinists
mechanics
electronics manufacturers
electronics installers
sales people
insurance people
facilities workers
dock workers
crews to run and maintain the ship

Yeah, its a great idea to eliminate thaose big bonuses. We don’t need them filthy rich people. We don’t need them stinkin rich bastards buying luxury yachts and luxury automobiles or luxury jets or luxury homes.
They should all be freaking dirt poor. How dare they strive to make make money and then spend it on things we build and maintain. How dare those dirty sons a bitches do that to us.
We should all be equal. So all you bastards with those nice pickup trucks and hummers and BMW’s, you all better get rid of them and get a hyundai elantra and be like the rest of us, you dirty rotten rich *** bastards!!!!!!!!!!! Go to hell, all of you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m mad as hell. who do you think you are?

Not really, but we need to start thinking about how much money these people spend, and how much we need to have wealthy people to help the rest of us survive. Really we do.

Do taxes have unintended consequences?

semper_paratus_1776 asked:

The 1990 Congressional Budget slapped a luxury tax on yachts to get more money from the wealthy. Result? People bought fewer boats. In its first year and a half, the yacht tax raised a pathetic $12,655,000 for the Treasury – enough to run the Agriculture Department for a little over two hours. Meanwhile, the tax contributed to the general devastation of the boating industry. It was estimated that 25,000 to 30,000 mostly blue-collar jobs were lost.

Pat M – Sorry to break it to you but it was the Carter Administration and a Democratic Congress that enacted the yacht tax.

Why do “tolerant” call me stupid when I confront them with the socialist nature of their Democratic party?

Hugo Chavez, who was re-elected as president of Venezuela by a wide margin last month, has said he will enact sweeping reforms to remake Venezuela into a socialist state. Among his plans are nationalizing the main telecommunications company and the electricity and natural gas sectors. He also said he will tax the rich by enacting taxes on luxury automobiles, private yachts, and second homes, and use the money for government social programs.

Sounds like the bunch we just put in Congress here in this country. Wait a year or two. You will see the resemblance. — Rod Hefner

Should we bail out the banks and mortgage companies or just let the government cover the insured deposits?

TroubleMaker asked:

I say let them fail like any poorly run business would . This will allow for the proper investment dollars and management teams to operate banking on sound policy rather then hit and run tactic’s that put hundreds of millions of dollars in undeserving pockets of thieving greedy so called business men who ran these companies into the ground and reaped hundred million dollar salaries . . ….

I say hold them accountable in court and seize their assets before they can place them in offshore accounts . Take their homes and luxury cars and yachts away from them and put them behind bars for creating such a disastrous impact on our economy .

These are after all the people with an education with degrees in finance , banking , economics and they should have known better .

This was a crime and to bail it out only encourages more actions of a similar nature in the future .

My tax dollars should not go to fund any bail out period no matter how so called important it is to the nation .
